Simulation technology for realizing the front loading of combustor design

Front loading is expected to improve the efficiency and reliability of the combustor design process, thus leading to a reduction in the number of experimental tests. Quantitative estimations of environmental compatibility and combustion stability are required in order to realize front loading; however, some key phenomena for these estimations are still not sufficiently elucidated or modeled. Hence, this study focuses on the elucidation and modeling of these key phenomena so as to achieve highly accurate time-dependent combustor analysis on a subscale level.
