JAXA officially partners with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Aeromedical Laboratory
On November 29, 2016, the JAXA Aviation Technology Directorate signed an official partnership agreement with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Aeromedical Laboratory, which conducts aviation-related medical research, psychological research, and practical-application testing within the Air Self-Defense Force organization. Under the new agreement, JAXA and the Aeromedical Laboratory will collaborate in an effort to establish more sophisticated technologies for ensuring aircraft and pilot safety. The joint-research initiative will include technologies for measuring pilot brain activity, providing pilots with in-flight support, measuring pilot workload levels, evaluating human error, and more.
