Cooperation with universities

JAXA’s Aviation Technology Directorate promotes R&D for the development of the Japanese aviation industry. For this purpose, cooperation with universities is crucially important. Universities promote fundamental research over a broader scope of interests. To maximize the synergy between universities and research institutions, it is indispensable to complement respective missions and roles through mutually beneficial collaborative research. Such cooperative partnerships lead to the development of Japan’s aviation science and technology as well as the future engineers and researchers of the aviation industry.
